Dr. Osman M. Osman

Minister of Economic Development

In the past three years, Egypt has witnessed several important developments in all economic, social and political fields that enabled the economy to surpass the recession phase and to enter its take-off stage. Despite these developments, serious work is still needed in order to confront major challenges facing our national economy. It is essential to proceed with institutional reforms, improve government governance, enhance IT society, and encourage adoption of modern techniques and communication systems in the various branches of knowledge and fields of work.

In the Ministry of Economic Development (MOED), we believe that providing accurate, transparent, and recent information about the Egyptian economy to all partners of development is essential for building a modern and knowledge-based society that can face the challenges of globalization. Based on that strong belief, we publish this new website of MOED to disseminate the most recent and accurate information about the major macroeconomic indicators in Egypt.

May Allah guide us to the benefits of our great country!
